David Hall
David Hall is a graduate in geology from Trinity College Dublin and holds a Masters Degree in Mineral Exploration from Queens University, Kingston, Ontario. He has 30 years of experience in the exploration sector and has worked on and assessed exploration projects and mines in over 50 countries, including Turkey where he worked for four and half years. From 1992, he was Chief Geologist for Minorco responsible for Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Middle East. He moved to South America in 1997 as Consultant Geologist for Minorco South America, and subsequently became Exploration Manager for AngloGold South America in 1999. David is founder and Non-Executive Chairman of AIM-listed Horizonte Minerals plc. David co-founded Stratex in 2004 and played a key role in assembling the Board and management team that has led to the successful discovery of gold mineralization in Turkey and Ethiopia.
Sorana Parvulescu
Sorana is responsible for scoping, managing and delivering complex political, security and operational risk-consulting projects across a range of countries and sectors. During her time with Control Risks, she has gained extensive experience in advising clients on business conditions in jurisdictions across the world, with a focus on Europe. In her previous position as Control Risks' Senior Analyst for Central and South-eastern Europe, Sorana regularly monitored political, security and operational obstacles to businesses in the region and commented regularly in the media on local developments. Before joining Control Risks, Sorana worked as a programme officer for a major Romanian think-tank. She was also a research assistant for Freedom House's Nations in Transit 2006 report on Romania, and co-authored a chapter in a book on rule-of-law reform in Central and South-Eastern Europe, which was based on a Stanford University-led research project. Sorana holds an MSc (with distinction) from the London School of Economics (LSE), as well as BAs in Political Science and International Economic Relations from universities in Bucharest. She also spent a year in Germany at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena as a Konrad Adenauer Fellow. She speaks Romanian, German and some French.
Kerim Sener
Kerim graduated from the University of Southampton with a first-class BSc (Hons) degree in Geology in 1997 and from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, with an MSc in Mineral Exploration in 1998. After working for Independence Gold Mining Pvt. Ltd. (Lonmin Zimbabwe) he completed a PhD at the University of Western Australia. During his PhD, in 2000-2003, he worked with ASX-listed Northern Gold NL in the Northern Territory and on a variety of exploration consultancy projects in Western Australia. In 2009, he completed his military service in Turkey.
He is a Fellow of The Geological Society of London, Member of The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, Member of the Chamber of Geological Engineers in Turkey and a member of the Society of Economic Geologists. He is a non-executive director of ASX-listed Genesis Resources Limited in Australia.
